Low Back Pain and Pregnancy
My name is Kelly Tanner and I am a Critical Care Registered Nurse in Columbus, Ohio. I want to highly recommend Dr. Brian Leaf, Chiropractor. Being in the medical field, I count on conventional medicine. My experience with a chiropractor during my college years was not favorable. My lower back was very painful and I felt the chiropractor just caused more pain and discomfort. From this experience and the one I had when I broke my tailbone, muscle relaxers and ice were the only cure for low back discomfort.
At the time I began seeing Dr. Leaf, I had just found out I was pregnant. I was already having sciatic nerve pain and back pain. I was not looking forward to having this discomfort my whole pregnancy. Dr. Leaf professionally assessed my situation and within a short time, I was feeling much better. I learned a lot about how my body works and felt ‘cleansed,’ not tied in knots. Being a nurse, I thought I knew a lot about my body, but Dr. Leaf showed my more about my body and how I can better take care of it. Also, by getting my body in good alignment, I felt much better.
Recently, I began having trouble with my left foot. The pain was similar to the discomfort I experienced with right heel spur pain. Six years ago, I had the right foot surgically repaired. Being pregnant and not being able to take the medicine I felt I needed, I told Dr. Leaf. He not only made my left foot better, but explained what causes the heel spur. No one explained to me about heel spurs like Dr. Leaf. I now do exercises to lessen the pain and avoid taking medicine.
My changed view of chiropractic was not instantaneous. I believe now there is a place for medicine and chiropractic care. Medicine is not always the cure to what ails you.
