Not just about back pain!

When I first saw a chiropractor, I thought it was just about back pain. I had no idea that so many people could recover from their illnesses with chiropractic care.

My first chiropractic miracle occurred when I was in 9th grade. My parents took me to a chiropractor following a football injury and I was amazed at how quickly it got me back in the game. I remember telling my mother on the way home from my first visit, “that is what I want to do when I grow up.

I am proud to be a graduate from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. In fact, I didn’t know how prestigious this honor would be until entering practice and seeing how other doctors provided care. The clinical skills that were instilled into us at Palmer allow us to take on even the most challenging cases with a degree of confidence that boosts our success rates. Much credit goes to Dr. Valero, my physical diagnosis professor. She was so hard on us that most students prayed that they’d get someone else for that class. A group of us actually requested her and even though she could be a bear at times. I know in my heart that by the grace of God she made me the doctor that I am today.

Personally

When I am outside of the office, I enjoy being with family and friends. This usually involves soccer games, gymnastics and going for bike rides as often as we can. While inside we love to watch movies together and on occasion I get the chance to play my drum set to let go of some stress.

Personally, I receive chiropractic care at least once per week to keep my nervous system at it peak. Daily workouts from 5:30 am to 6:30 am help to keep my core muscle tone and support my joints.

Usually, I receive an hour massage once per week to reduce the stress on my muscles and joints following a busy week of patient care.

Nutritionally, I take whole food supplements including multivitamins, minerals, essential fats like fish oil and black currant seed oil, and do a body purification program at least 3 times per year. This program simply gets me back on purpose since I too, love coffee, chocolate, pizza and yes even a cold beer or two.

Enough about me. The real concern is the extreme number of people who are dying of chronic illness in our communities. Many people argue that we don’t have enough hospitals, doctors or nurses, however, the fact is that we simply have way too many sick people due to lifestyle choices. Just imagine for a moment that a time comes when people become so healthy that some hospitals have to close because there aren’t enough patients in this country.

The real question is, how are you and how can I be a resource to help you develop the health that you want and the vitality that you deserve? Please contact our office to arrange a time for us to sit and listen to your personal health goals and find out how we can help.
